HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES – IBS of Provence

On Friday, December 18th, IBS celebrated the holiday festivities with an international buffet (thanks to the parent volunteers) and a Christmas Market. The Christmas Market included homemade and donated items which were sold to the benefit of the non-profit, Plan International. Thank you to all for joining us for our holiday party amidst the falling snowflakes !

IBS CHOIR TRIP TO BEAURECUEIL – IBS of Provence

On a crisp and cold afternoon in December, the IBS Choir went on the road to visit some of our local senior citizens. Led by our own Hilary Rivera, we were dispatched to the local church for a full dress rehearsal with hats, bells (a lot of bells) and all. With a small parent contingency to cheer along the choir, our young choristers were run through their octaves and finally given the green light to ring the bells in holiday cheer with our seniors.

As usual, Hilary surprised the students with a little treat which included a brisk walk to the local sweet shop where we were pumped up with Christmas spirit and a little sugar to boot. Upon arrival at the retirement home, the choir began singing in full force. With our elders tapping and clapping, we completed a full rendition and ended to a nice round of applause from the audience. A few volunteers were pulled from the choir (Hilary can be quite persuasive at times) our students introduced themselves in French including their country of origin, which the seniors enjoyed a lot.

This was a very special event for the IBS students to become involved in and hopefully it will become a regular feature for sharing holiday cheer.
